Smarter Approach to Modular Storage

The Future of Flexible Storage Solutions
The Vellex® System is a fully modular storage and workspace solution designed to adapt to the evolving needs of healthcare, laboratory and education environments.
Built around interchangeable drawers, frames, trolleys and benching components, Vellex® allows teams to configure, organise and optimise their spaces with precision.
Each element has been engineered for durability, easy cleaning and seamless integration helping create more efficient, compliant and adaptable workflows.

Designed Around the End User

From colour-coded identification and modular organisation to durable drawers and laboratory-grade mobility, every Vellex® feature has been developed to solve real-world challenges faced by educators, researchers and laboratory professionals.

Colour Coding & Labelling

Vellex® offers a curated palette of 22 colours designed to complement any environment while improving organisation and efficiency.
Why colour matters
  • Quickly identify and access supplies
  • Create clear storage zones
  • Reduce errors and improve workflow consistency
  • Support lean and 5S organisational principles
More than just aesthetics, colour-coded storage helps streamline operations, improve accuracy, and create more organised spaces.

Frames

Vellex® Frames feature a globally patented anodised aluminum open profile for complete cleaning access so there are no hidden spaces where dust, dirt and debris can build up. The anodised finish is smooth, extremely hard‑wearing and highly resistant to corrosion, making it easy to wipe down and maintain over time, being chip‑resistant making a superior choice over powder‑coated finishes.
Fully enclosed fittings and connection points help minimise the ingress of water and dust, supporting a cleaner, low‑maintenance solution for laboratories, research facilities, universities, and education environments.

PodSerts® and Dividers

PodSerts® drop‑in bins are typically used for containment, while the divider and partition system is designed to help segregate items within drawers. This Australian‑designed, globally patented concept is truly unique: PodSerts® bins and dividers can be used individually or together within the same drawer, in countless configurations. The result is an exceptionally flexible, high‑density plastic drawer system engineered to maximise organisation and storage capacity.

Castors

To future‑proof laboratories and learning environments, all Vellex® systems can be fitted with premium, laboratory‑grade, non‑marking castors so spaces can be repurposed or reconfigured at a moment’s notice for the next project, class or task. The castors provide smooth, effortless manoeuvrability and lock securely in place whenever stability is required.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes laboratory storage different from standard storage systems?

Laboratory storage systems must support regulated environments, including safe handling of chemicals and specimens. This requires materials, configurations, and layouts designed for compliance, traceability, and controlled workflows rather than general-purpose storage.
Yes. Versatile Spaces systems are designed to support high-compliance environments, including laboratories operating under PC2 and PC3 requirements. We can align system configurations with specific operational and regulatory needs.
Modular systems improve efficiency by organising storage into structured zones, reducing retrieval time, and supporting consistent workflows. This reduces handling errors and improves overall laboratory throughput.
Yes. Modular systems are designed to be reconfigured without replacing the entire installation. This allows laboratories to adapt layouts, expand capacity, or adjust workflows as requirements evolve.
These systems are suitable for a wide range of environments, including pathology labs, research facilities, pharmaceutical laboratories, and diagnostic testing environments.
Yes. Modular storage systems reduce reliance on fixed infrastructure. As laboratory needs change, systems can be adjusted rather than removed and rebuilt, reducing long-term costs and disruption.
