We had the opportunity to attend Pathology Update 2026 at the International Convention Centre in Sydney, hosted by the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (RCPA). The turnout was impressive far exceeding expectations and reflected the strength and engagement of the pathology profession across the region.

What stood out immediately was the diversity of expertise in attendance. The event brought together professionals from across the full spectrum of pathology, including anatomical pathology, chemical pathology, clinical forensic medicine, forensic pathology, genetic pathology, haematology, immunopathology, and microbiology.

This breadth highlights how interconnected the field has become, with each discipline playing a vital role in advancing patient care.
